Brill, Edward (19 Nov. 1924 - 28 Sept. 2001)

Colby - Edward W. Brill, 76, Colby, died Sept. 28, 2001, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Colby. The Rev. John Malik will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, town of Colby, Clark County. Pallbearers will be his sons, Robert, Theodore, Timothy, Thomas and William Brill, and his nephew Philip Sweet.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Tuesday at Community Funeral Home, Colby, and on Wednesday until service time. There will be a Catholic Order of Foresters Rosary at 5 p.m. and general parish rosary at 8 p.m., all Tuesday at the funeral home.

Edward was born Nov. 19, 1924, in Marathon County, to Theodore and Lena (nee Hoffman) Brill. He attended Lone Pine School. Edward and Ella Seidel were united in marriage. They farmed together in the town of Hull, Marathon County.

Edward was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He was also the Chief Ranger of Men’s Catholic Order of Foresters.

He is survived by his wife, Ella; his children, Robert Brill of Colby, William Brill of Colby, Timothy Brill of Colby, Thomas Brill of Palatine, Ill., Theodore Brill of Thorton, Colo., Ann (Paul) Sweet of Golden, Colo., Jennifer Brill of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Patricia (Joe) Lepak; a brother, Joseph (Louise) Brill of Colby; six sisters, Theresa (Bob) Bergs of Milwaukee, Rita (Allyn) Sweet of Milwaukee, Agnes (Victor) Bergs of Albuquerque, N.M., Sister Jolita Brill of La Crosse, Sister Clara Brill of La Crosse, and Sister Clarone Brill of La Crosse.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
