Flaig, Minnie (4 APR 1896)

Married, on the 4th of April, 1896, at the parsonage of the Christian Church, Girard, Kan., by Rev. Thos. J. Thompson, Mr. Perry O. Updike of Ft. Wayne, Ind., and Miss Minnie Flaig of Colby, Clark Co., Wis.

There, if that isn’t a surprise for you, don’t ask us for one.

Mr. Updike is an evangelist and is engaged in holding protracted meetings at Cherokee, Kansas. He is the son of noted evangelist, J. V. Updike of Ft. Wayne.

The bride needs no introduction to the most of our readers, having lived here from childhood. She has always been a great favorite among her acquaintances, and all will extend her hearty good wishes. Her husband was a college mate, last year, and their acquaintance there ripened into that affection that always leads to the marriage alter. Of course we know nothing of the groom, but being an evangelist, he should be good, but again, if he is as good as Minnie, he is awful good. The Phonograph extends best wishes for future happiness and prosperity.
