Kuehling, Norman Ervin (13 May 1919 - 17 Jan. 2002)

Norman E. Kuehling, 82, Unity, died on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. John Clasen officiated. Burial was in the town of Brighton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Kenneth Verhalen, Michael Kurth, Robert Burns, Dennis Kuehling, Lloyd Kuehling, and Charles Butterbrodt.

Norman Ervin Kuehling was born May 13, 1919, in Unity, to Otto and Amanda (nee Glaman) Kuehling. He graduated from Unity, Wis. High School. He married Norma Young on Sept. 24, 1948, in Iowa. He was a trucker who hauled cattle and hay, and he later worked for Marshfield Oil. The couple farmed in the town of Unity for more than 50 years, and later with their son. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the church Council. He was a member of the Unity Village Board for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Norma, Unity; two daughters, Claudette (Michael) Kurth, Granton, and Gail (Robert) Burns, Unity; one son, Wayne Kuehling, Unity; five grandchildren, Kevin Schultz, Randal Schultz, Crystal Schultz, Justin Burns and Christopher Burns; and two brothers, Richard (Myrtle) Kuehling, Unity, and Harold (Bernice) Kuehling, Portage, Ind.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
