Benedict, Kenneth C. (2 Sept. 1947 - 18 Nov. 2005)

Kenneth Benedict, age 58, of Black River Falls, died Friday November 18, 2005, at the Black River Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls.

Kenneth Carl Benedict was born on September 2, 1947, to Morvin and Marian Benedict, in York Center on his parents’ farm. Kenneth’s parents moved to the town of Loyal, where he attended school from kindergarten to 11th grade.

He worked most of his life as a farmhand, but he also worked for Arden Hinkelman pumping gas and most recently worked as a janitor at Strike Time Lanes in Neillsville, Wis.

He married Addie Jean Riphenburg and they had five children. They divorced and later Kenneth married Patricia Honzik.

Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing; he was a fishing instructor for young children. He was good enough in horseshoeing to get some trophies, and he was on bowling teams. He also enjoyed cooking and barbequing and picking berries with his wife, Patricia.

Surviving is his wife, Patricia; five children, Rose (Dan) Doberstein of DePere, Gloria Benedict, of Neillsville, William and Kenneth Benedict both of DePere and Amanda (Tom) Besaw of Green Bay; seven grandchildren; his mother, Marian Benedict of Neillsville and a brother, Gary Benedict.

Preceding him in death was his father, Morvin Benedict.

Funeral services for Ken were held Tuesday, November 22, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor Keven Newell officiated with interment in the Town of York Cemetery.

Casket bearers were: Grant Hohlstein, Don Pinkerton Sr., Don Pinterton, Jr., Larry and Gary Benedict and Tom Besaw.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Ken’s family with funeral arrangements.
