DOUBLE WEDDING IS HELD AT VFW HALL SATURDAY

Miss June Wanda Mandel became the bride of Victor Freeman McHone, Granton, and Miss Shirley Gwen Mandel became the bride of Donald Erwin Voge, Abbotsford, in double wedding ceremonies held Saturday afternoon in the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall in Marshfield.

The brides were the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred E. Mandel, Loyal. Mr. McHone is the son of Mr. and Mrs. V. Freeman McHone, Granton, and Mr. Voge is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Adolph E. Voge, Abbotsford, Wis.

The couples were married by Loyal Petran, Racine, who is a representative of the Patoral Bible Institute of Brooklyn, N. Y. He is the son of the late Fred Petran, who married the bride’s parents 32 years ago.

The bride wore identical gowns of waltz-length embroidered nylon tulle over taffeta, with fitted bodices and bouffant skirts. Their shoulder-length veils of illusion net fell from a crown trimmed with seed pearls and rhinestones. They carried cascade bouquets of Easter lilies surrounded with lilac and white carnations and laurel leaves.

Mrs. McHone’s matron of honor was Mrs. Arla Mae Wellnitz, Loyal. She wore a green waltz-length gown of lace and net over taffeta. Her headpiece was a braided crown with rhinestones trim, and her flowers were a nosegay of green and white carnations.

Mrs. Voge’s matron of honor was Mrs. Robert Wibben, Colby. She wore an orchid colored waltz-length gown of lace and net over taffeta with a similar headpiece. Her flowers were a nosegay of orchid and white carnations.

The bride’s brother, Herbert R. Mandle, Loyal, was Mr. Voge’s best man and Joseph Winstead, the groom’s brother-in-law was Mr. McHone’s best man.

Judith Wibeen, Colby, the groom’s niece, acted as flower girl and wore a white ruffled gown of net and lace over satin. She carried a nosegay of white carnations and swansonia fastened with lilac and mint green ribbons.

The bride’s nephew, Brent Carpenter, Marshfield, was ring bearer.

Ushers were Harold Kuehmichel, Marshfield, and Robert Wibben, Colby.

Following the ceremony a reception was held in the VFW Hall.

Both brides are graduates of the Loyal High School. Mr. Voge was graduated from the Abbotsford, Wis. High School and is an automobile mechanic in Abbotsford, Wis. Mrs. Voge has been doing secretarial work in Marshfield.

Mr. McHone was graduated from the Granton High School and spent four years in the U. S. Navy. Mrs. McHone has been employed by the A. H. Weinbrenner Co. They plan to live on a farm near Granton.

After a honeymoon in northern Wisconsin and Michigan, Mr. and Mrs. Voge will reside on Butternut Street in Abbotsford, Wis.
