Lindau, Melvin Ronald (27 Jan. 1929 - 13 Dec. 2005)

Melvin Lindau, 76, Waupaca, formerly of Neillsville, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005, at Lake View Manor Nursing Home in Weyauwega.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2005, at Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in Neillsville City Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday at the Chruch.

Gesche Funeral home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Melvin Ronald Lindau was born Jan. 27, 1929, in Dorchester, the son of Albert and Amanda (Laack) Lindau. Melvin was united in marriage to Donna Mae Baumgart on Dec. 6, 1952, in Dorchester, and she preceded him in death in 1989.

After their marriage, they lived in Unity, Abbotsford and Thorp, before moving to Neillsville in 1960. Melvin worked at Tri-State Breeders for more than 20 years, holding two different positions, technician and regional supervisor. He earned recognition for breeding more than 100,000 cows during his career. He also played trombone with the Howie Sturtz Orchestra.

He is survived by four children, Rick (Jean) Lindau, Sheboygan, Brian (Barbara) Lindau, Granville, Ohio; Karyn (Richard) Lodholz, Iola; and Ronda (David) Rollins, Waupaca; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Lucille Dallenbach and Arletta (Bob) Goldamer, both of Abbotsford, Wis.
