Schmidt, Dorothy M. (19 AUG 1922 - 21 JAN 2006)

Dorothy M. Schmidt, 83, Pearson, died on Saturday, Jan. 21, 2006 , at the Eastview Medical and Rehab Center in Langlade County. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., on Tuesday, Jan. 24, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Pickerel. The Rev. Charles Hoffman officiated. Burial was in Pearson Cemetery.

Dorothy Mildred Rossow was born on Aug. 19, 1922, in the Clark County town of York, to Charles and Tina (nee Larson) Rossow. She was raised in Clark County. She married Paul A. Schmidt on June 16, 1945, in Milwaukee. He died on Oct. 27, 1991. After her marriage, they moved in 1946 to Granton, where they farmed for 14 years. In 1966, they purchased the Walleye Lodge on Rolling Stone Lake, which they owned and operated until retiring in 1982. They then lived in the Pearson area. She enjoyed crafts, painting, ceramics, sewing and gardening. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Pickerel.

Survivors include three daughters, Patti (Pat) Pomasl, Antigo, Jan (Bob) Malitz, Pearson, and Sue Powell, Pearson; four sons, David (Cheryl) Schmidt, Pearson, Gary (Tammy) Schmidt, Northfield, Minn., Joe Schmidt, Pickerel, and Dan (Mickey) Schmidt, Abrams; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 28 step-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; six brothers, Roy, Glen, Charles, Verlin, Mervyn, and Gilbert; two sisters, Lila Dankemeyer, and Beulah Bremmer; and one great-grandchild, Johnathon Malitz.

Bradley Funeral Home & Crematory, Antigo, assisted the family with arrangements.
