Botnen, Ruth A. (Marriage - Nov. 1935)

Miss Ruth A. Botnen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Botnen of Neillsville, on Thanksgiving Day became the bride of Harold A. Wendt, son of Mrs. William Wendt, Owen, Wis. The ceremony took place at the Lutheran parsonage at Greenwood, Rev. M. K. Aaberg, officiating in the double-ring ceremony before a group of the immediate relatives.

Miss Botnen was attired in a costume of wine crepe made with jacket, and brown accessories. The bridesmaid, Mrs. V. H. Counsell, sister of the bride, wore a gown of Indian rust crepe with brown accessories. The bride carried a bouquet of tea roses and baby breath and the bridesmaid a bouquet of chrysanthemums and baby breath. The groom was attended by his brother, Charles Wendt of Eau Claire.

Eighteen relatives and friends were guest at a wedding dinner given at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was attractively decorated in pink and white.

The bride is a young lady of many gracious qualities as well as being very efficient in her wok as a stenographer, having been employed in several government offices, the last being with the WPA at La Crosse. She graduated from the Neillsville high school in 1932. The groom has lived at Owen all of his life with the exception of the time spent taking a course at a radio school in Chicago and working as a radio engineer on the Great Lakes botas from Buffalo to Chicago. He is spoken of highly by the people of Owen, Wis.

Mr. and Mrs. Wendt left on a wedding trip to the Twin Cities and Willmar, Minn. They will retruned Dec. 9 to make their home in Owen, Wis.
