Hafeman, Martha (8 FEB 1883 – 19 APR 1971)

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today in Christ Lutheran Church, Marshfield, for Mrs. Hugh (Martha) Hafeman, age 88, who died Monday evening in Vallins Memorial Hospital, Green Bay.

Visitation was Wednesday evening and until 10 a.m. Thursday morning in Hansen Chapel at Marshfield.

The former Colby (Clark Co., Wis.) resident was buried at Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.

Mrs. Hafeman was born February 8, 1883 in Hewitt, the former Martha Panzer.

Her marriage to Hugh Hafeman took place in Hewitt on August 30, 1904, and the couple lived in Marshfield for a short time before moving to Colby in 1906.

Mrs. Hafeman left Colby about one and one-half years ago to live with a son, Lyle, in Adams.

She was a former chaplain of the Colby VFW Auxiliary, and a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two sons, Lyle of Adams and Calvin of Colby; four daughters, Mrs. earl (Milda) Murton, Milwaukee, Mrs. Myria Couve, Madison, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Hutchinson, Green Bay, and Mrs. Raymond (Aloha) Haefs, Green Bay; seven grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren, and a sister.

Her husband, a daughter, two sons, four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
