Boone, Mabel (29 March 1874 - 27? Feb. 1936)

Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel Robbins Boone, formerly a resident of Neillsville, whose death occurred at Waupaca Feb. 27, were held here Saturday, Rev. G. W. Longenecker, officiating. Mrs. Boone, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Robbins, was born at Christie March 28, 1874. She was married to Richard Boone who was killed March 17, 1900 while employed as a railroad brakeman at Marshfield.

Two daughters, Jessie (Mrs. Cavanaugh of Madison) and Ethel were born to this union. Miss Ethel died May 2, 1930 following an operation. She is survived by Mrs. Cavanaugh, twin granddaughters, Jane and Alice Cavanaugh, and a brother, Harry Robbins of Denver.

Mrs. Boone was a woman of intellect; ambitious and exceedingly versatile. Previous to her marriage she taught school in the Town of Weston and after the death of her husband she attended a business college at Stevens Point, and was employed for a time as a stenographer at Oshkosh and Stevens Point. Some 25 years ago she ran a photograph studio at Amherst. Mrs. Boone educated her daughters in the public schools of Neillsville, Wis. She was a kind and thoughtful neighbor and well liked by all who knew her. In recent years she made her home in Waupaca. About a year ago she suffered a stroke and on Feb. 4 of this year a second stroke ended in her death.

Mrs. Cavanaugh was here to attend the funeral. Mrs. Boone was buried beside her daughter, and husband in the Neillsville Cemetery.

G. H. Lowe brought the body here from Waupaca.
