Charles Neinas Dies at Age 88

Granton - Charles A. Neinas, 88, Granton, died Thursday afternoon at Memorial Hospital in Neillsville of old age complications.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton. Burial will be made in the Windfall cemetery.

Mr. Neinas was born Sept. 29, 1870 at Helenville. On Dec. 10, 1895 he married the former Matilda Guk at Fremont, who survives him. They farmed in Fremont a short time, then came to Granton where owned and operated a feed mill for many years, until he sold in 1917.

He had served on the Granton school board and had been president of the Lynn telephone Company for a time, being the last surviving officer of the original company. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.

Mr. Neinas had also served for four years as chairman of the town of Fremont and was Granton village assessor for 22 years.

Surviving besides his wife are one son, Arthur Neinas, Marshfield; one daughter, Mrs. Glenn (Lydia) Seitzinger, Washington, D. C.; and two grandchildren, Charles and Robert Neinas.

One son, two brothers, and three sisters preceded him in death.
