Koch, Martha L. (14 JAN 1927 - 2 MAR 2006)

Martha L. Koch, 79, Holcombe, formerly of Colby, died on Tuesday on Thursday, March 2, 2006, at the Cornell Area Care Center, Cornell. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 6, at the First United Church of Christ, Colby. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix officiated. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Mary Wilhelm was born on Jan. !4, 1927, to Earl and Eunice (nee Demundren) Wilhelm. She married James Koch on April 22, 1948. She received her nurses training at Deaconess Hospital, Milwaukee, and assisted her husband, Dr. J. W. Koch, in his practice with Colby Clinic. She was also a registered nurse at the Colonial Center Nursing Home, Colby. Upon her husband’s retirement, the y moved to Lake Holcombe in 1988. She enjoyed painting, bird watching, and traveling.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. J. W. Koch, Holcombe; three children, Sara (Mitch) Kaiser, Chippewa Falls, Patricia "Patti" Edblom, Wausau, and Dave (Sharon) Koch, Unity; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Marietta Wilhelm, El Paso, Texas.
