Marsh, Edwin Sr. (25 DEC 1834 - 3 AUG 1912)

Edwin Marsh Sr., for many years a resident here (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.), died at his home in Fifield, Wis., at 6:30 Saturday evening, Aug. 3rd, 1912, aged 77 years, 7 months and 9 days. The remains were brought to Colby, Monday on the 12:30 passenger, and the funeral held from the M.E. Church at 2 o’clock the same afternoon, Rev. W.E. Marsh officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Colby Cemetery by the side of those of his wife, who died, Feb. 10th, 1909.

Deceased was born in Binghamton, N.Y., on Christmas day, 1834. He came to Wisconsin, settling at Portage, and 32 years ago came to Colby and resided on a farm south of the city, until about six years ago, when he moved to Fifield with his family. Her served in the Union Army from 1861 to 1865, when he was honorably discharge. He is survived by four sons, Edwin, James, Roy, of Fifield, Fred of Fenwood, and four daughters, Mrs. Alfred Jensen of Seattle, Wash., Clara, Marion, Alice, of Fifield, and one step-daughter, Mrs. J. Voemastek of Rib Lake. Also one sister, Mrs. Frank Edminster of Fall Creek, Wis., and three brothers, Henry of Menomonie, and Merritt and Sidney of Solon Springs, Wis.

All of the children, except Mrs. Jensen, and his brother Henry, were here to attend the funeral.
