William Ralph Spencer, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Spencer and Miss Nora Sackett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Sackett, all of the town of Seif were married Sunday afternoon, August 30, at Sunset Point, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating.

The young couple will live in the town of Seif.

William R. "Hartson".


Death following an ailment that lasted two years, came Tuesday (May 21, 1918 was a Tuesday, Death Certificate has May 20, 1918) noon to William R. "Hartson" at his home in Calamus. The body was brought this afternoon to the home of a daughter, Mrs. Maurice Ely, 1647 Sunnyside avenue, where funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. G. D. Rogers, Baptist. Burial will be made at Springdale cemetery (Springdale Cemetery, Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa, Section15, Block 56).


William "Hartson" was born August 8th, 1860 at Savanna, Ill., and came to Clinton county to engage as a farmer many years ago. Mrs. "Hartson" preceded him in death 12 years ago (Nancy Ann Green Hartson died Dec 27, 1905), leaving the following sons and daughters: Fred (#3), Harry (#7), Edward (#5), Mrs. Maurice Ely (Edythe Hartson #1), Mrs. Alfred Willard (Marion Hartson #6) of Clinton; Mrs. Della Ryner (Husbands name was Del, Hazel Hartson #8), DeWitt; Mrs. John Cady (Elnora Hartson #4), Elsie (#11), Florence (#12, My Grandmother), Violet (Ruby Hartson #10), Lillian (#9), Calamus; Mrs. George Sackett (Jessie Hartson #2), "Neillsville", Wis. Two sisters and a brother also survive. They are "George Burton Hartson" (Had Albert but never went by that name in census, died Mar 10, 1941, #3), Clinton; Mrs. Emil Ramson (Marion Hartson was divorced in 1915, and in July 24, 1913 going by Minnie Phillips #4), Donahue and Mrs. Lillian "Frederichson" (Died Jun 24, 1956 #6), Lyons.  ( Franklin was in Sterling, Logan, Colorado during this period )
