Garbisch, Daniel (25 NOV 1903 - 22 NOV 1975)

GRANTON, Clark Co., Wis. - A Granton resident, Daniel Garbisch, died Saturday afternoon at Neillsville Memorial Hospital. He was 71 years of age.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church here with the Rev. Everett Schleef, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call at the Gilbertson Funeral Home from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday.

Born Nov. 25, 1903, in the town of Grant, Mr. Garbisch married the former Charlotte Davis on Sept. 29, 1932, at Berlin. She preceded him in death Aug. 18, 1972.

After his marriage he lived on a farm in the town of York, Clark Co. and later moved to Granton. He worked as an electrician and plumber for the Bluett Hardware Co. here and alter established his own business.

He was a member of the Granton Rotary Club, Fire Department and had served as village clerk here for many years. He also was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and its dartball team, and had served as secretary on the church board.

He received his education in the parochial school in the town of Grant and the Granton High School and graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic.

Survivors include a son, Duane, La Crosse; two daughters, Mrs. George (Jacquelyn) Gannon, Chippewa Falls, and Mrs. Jon (Kathleen) Czarnitzki, Davenport, Iowa; three sisters, Mrs. Henry (Clara) Helm and Mrs. Louis (Adelia) Helm, both of Granton, and Mrs. Alfred (Florence) Walkenhauer, Burnett; a brother, Edward, Granton, and 10 grandchildren.

A brother and a sister also preceded him in death.

Garbisch, Daniel (25 November 1903 – 22 November 1975)

Funeral services were to be held Wednesday, November 26, at 11 a.m. from Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, for Daniel Garbisch, 71, of Granton, who died November 22 in Neillsville. The Rev. Everett Schleef was to officiate, and burial was to follow in the church cemetery. The body of Mr. Garbisch was to be in state from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, and at the church from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.

Born November 25, 1903, in the Town of Grant, Daniel Garbisch received his education in Town of Grant schools and at Granton High School and was a graduate of the Palmer School of Chiropractic. His marriage to the former Charlotte Davis took place September 29, 1932, in Berlin. Mrs. Garbisch preceded her husband in death on August 18, 1972.

The couple lived on a farm in the Town of York and later moved to Granton where Mr. Garbisch worked for the Bluett Hardware Store Company as an electrician and plumber. Later, he established his own business in Granton.

Mr. Garbisch was a member of the Granton Rotary Club and of the Granton Volunteer Fire Department and had served as village clerk for many years. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church and of its dartball team. He had served as secretary of the church board.

Survivors include one son, Duane Garbisch of La Crosse; two daughters, Mrs. George (Jacquelyn) Gannon of Chippewa Falls and Mrs. Jon (Kathleen) Czarnitzki of Davenport, Ia.; and ten grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Henry Helm and Mrs. Louis Helm, both of Granton, and Mrs. Alfred Walkenhauer of Burnett, and by one brother, Edward Garbisch of Granton.

Mrs. Roger helm was to be the organist and accompany congregational singing.

Durward Schwarze, William Morley, Dr. Victor Tharp, Ray Hoeft, Joe Dachel and Roland Quicker were to be pallbearers.
