Sowieja, Carol Ann (15 MAR 1975)

The Rev. Robert B. Houston solemnized wedding vows of Miss Carol Ann Sowieja and Clyde David Zahn, both of Milwaukee, during an afternoon nuptial rite at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Greenwood, March 15, 1975.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Sowieja, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), was presented in marriage by her father to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zahn, Milwaukee. Music for the 3 o'clock ceremony was provided by Mrs. Rita Stewart, organist, and Mrs. Suzanne Johnson and Mrs. Mary Velton, vocalists.

As she approached the altar the bride was seen in a satin brocade and lace gown and a picture hat. She carried a satin covered bible and a bouquet of orchids and baby's breath.

She was preceded down the aisle by the bridal aides, Miss Debra Lueschen, Milwaukee, maid of honor, and Mrs. Gail ? of Milwaukee, Miss Darlene Fontaine, Plymouth, and Miss Kathy Zahn, Oshkosh, bridesmaids, attired in rainbow ensemble of crepe with print satin blouses and felt hats. Each carried a single long stemmed rose. Debra Eve, Waukesha, was miniature bride.

Darrell Nuhouse, Milwaukee, performed the duties of best man, with the assistance of Charles Sowieja of Madison, Richard Buchholz, Milwaukee, and Dave Neumann, Stevens Point, groomsmen. Patrick Scheuerman, Greenwood, was ring bearer. Guests were seated by Michael Sowieja, Greenwood and Daniel Zahn, Milwaukee.

The new Mrs. Zahn graduated from Greenwood High School in 1971 and is employed by Mellowes Company in Milwaukee as a sales correspondent. Her husband, a University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point graduate in 1974, works at Wares Cycle Store.

They greeted guests at a reception, dinner and dance held at the American Legion Hall in Greenwood, after the ceremony.

Following a two week stay in Key West, Florida, the couple will make their home at 5936A N. 34th Street in Milwaukee.
