Bryan Keith McNeely, a former Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) resident, has been named editor of the Tribune-Record-Gleaner.

A reporter-photographer for the Marshfield News Herald since October 1971, McNeely will assume his duties on April 9, 1975.

He will take on the photographic and news responsibilities Mary Murray had before her recent move to Black River Falls. In addition, he will also be in charge of page layouts and share editorial functions with Robert Berglund, co-publisher of the TRG.

A Medford native, McNeely, 27, is son of Mrs. Keith McNeely, Spencer. He lived for six years north of Loyal on a farm now owned by his uncle, Ray McNeely. In 1956 his parents moved to a small farm southwest of Spencer.

A 1965 graduate of Spencer High School, the new editor earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with double majors in English and Political Science.

He worked part time at the UW Primate Center while at college, and was employed full time in 1970 as animal caretaker and floor supervisor for the UW Veterinary Science Department.

In 1871, following his father accidental death, McNeely settled in Loyal and helped operate McNeely Construction, Inc. until the business could be sold.

He and his wife, the former Lauren Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Nelson, Wauwatosa, have two children, Rebecca, 2, and Molly, 1.

Presently living in Marshfield, the McNeelys plan to move soon into the TRG circulation area. They are expected home from vacation to the Southwest this week.

In other staff changes, Robert and Florence Berglund, co-publishers, announce the expansion of duties for Violet Mechelke, author of the "Take Five with Vi" Column. She will be employed as a pat time reporter and feature writer.
