Halvorson, Linda Joy (26 July 1951 – 8 July 2019)

Linda J. Halvorson, 67, of rural Humbird, passed away Monday morning, July 8, 2019, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Linda Joy Halvorson, daughter of Ruben and Lorraine Rodgers was born July 26, 1951 in Eau Claire. At the age of 18 months, Linda’s mother passed away from leukemia and after that she was raised by her father’s parents in Fairchild. She attended school in Fairchild and also received training as a certified nursing assistant. With her training she was employed as a nurse’s aide at the nursing homes in Thorp, Fall Creek, Fairchild and Osseo. When she retired at the age of 66 she was working at the Heritage Nursing Home in Black River Falls.

Since the spring of 1991, she was with Marc Halvorson and the two were united in marriage on Oct. 1, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church in Pigeon Falls. Since 1994 they had made their home in Humbird.

Linda enjoyed attending yard sales where she would hunt out porcelain dolls, trolls, red and carnival glass wear and various knickknacks, especially those from occupied Japan.

Linda will be dearly missed by her husband Marc, her loving soul companion since 1991; son Shane Halvorson (Sarah Nelson) of Augusta; 4 granddaughters; 1 grandson; and several great grandchildren.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; and 3 sons, David Lee Halvorson in infancy, Jerry Gravits and Steven Halvorson Jr.

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at the North Branch Rod and Gun Club in Humbird. A memorial service conducted by Pastor Terry Marg will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rod and Gun Club with a lunch following services.

Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Merrillan.

The family is assisted by the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta.
