Lato, Linda (March 31, 1952 - February 27, 2006)

Linda Lato, age 53, of W11745 County Rd N, Stanley, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2006, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, losing the battle against cancer but gaining her second wind with her Savior Jesus. Services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Stanley, with Pastor Linda Dutton and Pastor Craig Lindgren officiating. Burial will follow in the South Worden Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley. Plombon Funeral Service is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Linda was born March 31, 1952 in Milwaukee, the daughter of Leonard and Lillian (Schilling) Bielecki. As a young girl she moved with her family to the Stanley area, growing up there and attending Thorp and Stanley schools, graduating from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1970. She was united in marriage to Gary Lato on April 24, 1974 in Stanley and has resided in the Town of Worden since. She worked in the restaurant business and was a manager at the former Renegade Restaurant.

Linda is survived by her husband Gary Lato of Stanley; children, Olga (Frank) Letherbury, Jay (Megan) Miles, Tana (Jamie) Peterson, Jessica Lyn (Todd) Andrew, Rebecca Ann (Rodney) Shilts, Gary Jr. (special friend Jackie) Lato, Lila Lee (Sam) Shilts; grandchildren, Thomas and Evan Letherbury, Naomi Miles, Sasha and Jasmine Jascor, Gunner, Tucker and Tanner Peterson, Kayla and Michael Andrew, Marcus, Michaela, Miranda, Marissa and Montana Shilts, Kelli Shilts and "one on the way" Shilts. She is also survived by her mother, Lillian Bielecki of Thorp; two sisters, Sandra (Norman) Danielwicz, Chippewa Falls and Barbara Isenberger, Eau Claire. She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Bielecki.

Linda enjoyed spending time with her family and her grandchildren, especially cook-outs, time outdoors, especially trying to keep canoes upright. Her hobbies were knitting, sewing, reading, cat fishing and cooking, which was her specialty.
