Rowley, Daryl E. (19 DEC 1929 - 22 MAY 2006)

Daryl E. Rowley, 76, Loyal, died at his son’s farm, in the town of Beaver, on Monday, May 22, 2006. Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home on May 26, from 5-9 p.m., with services to be conducted by the Loyal American Legion Post # 175 at 7:30 p.m., and again at the Loyal Methodist Church on May 27 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Wendell Williams will officiate. Pallbearers will be Darly’s grandchildren. Burial will be in the Loyal Cemetery at a later date. Full military rites will be performed by the Loyal American Legion Post #175.

Daryl Everett Rowley was born on Dec. 19, 1929, to George and Gladys (nee Herdrich) Rowley. He attended country schools in the Loyal area and then graduated from Loyal High School in 1948. Following his graduation, he worked for the Clark County Highway Department and then was called to serve his country in the United States Army from Feb. 27, 1951, to March 3, 1953. He married Dolores "Dee" Kowatz on Jan. 8, 1954, in Evanston, Ill. Daryl worked for the Clark County Highway Department from 1953-58 and farmed in the town of Beaver. He farmed until 1990 when they moved to town. He also sold feed for Vigortone Ag Products from 1976 until his death. He was a bus driver for the Loyal School District for 39 years. He was adjutant for many years of the Loyal American Legion Post #175, and local 40 & 8, voiture 821. He loved spending time with his family, working on the farm, visiting neighbors and spending time with friends.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 52 years, Dee Rowley, Loyal; his children, Kathy (Arlyn Kollmansberger) Pieper, Spencer, Julie (Dean) Milz, Loyal, JoAnn (Mike) Farnsworth, Newcastle, Wyo., Ron Rowley, Billings, Mont., Donnie (Brenda) Rowley, Loyal, Nancy (John Sheehan) Rowley, Durango, Colo., and Dan Rowley, Loyal; 11 grandchildren, Penny, Angie, and Mandy Pieper, Bob, Tom, and Melissa Milz, Doug (Jenette) and Damon Alexander, and McKenzie, Deveni, and Dylan Rowley; four great-grandchildren, Tifini Pieper, and Jordan, Riley, and Bradley Alexander; one sister, Ilene (Bud) Schlinsog, Kenosha; and one sister-in-law, Gerry Rowley, Marshfield.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, who died on Feb. 7, 2006.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements.
