He also took great interest in local affairs, especially in schools and township business, representing the town of Hewett for many years on the county board. He was a man of broad views, kind and courteous and a good husband and father, and in every way a most admirable citizen.

He is survived by six children, Arthur in the town of Hewett, Eric and Louise at home in West Allis, Carl, town of Hewett, Laura, Mrs. Jack Biggs, West Allis, Marie, Mrs. Walter Wagner, Globe.
