Andre, Norma (SEP 1934)

With beautiful decorations of fall flowers, St. John’s Church near Spencer was the scene of a colorful wedding when Miss Norma Andre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Andre became the bride of Emil Luepke, son of Mrs. H. R. Newman, Spencer. The impressive double ring ceremony was performed by the pastor, the Rev. H. C. Hinz.

The bridal party included Miss Lenora Bruss, cousin of the bride as bridesmaid, Louise Oelrich, a cousin of the bride and also of the groom, as flower girl. Thr groom’s brother, Herman Luepke served as best man. Robert Andre, brother of the bride was ring bearer.

The bride wore a white satin gown made princess style floor length with pearls and a full length veil caught up in cap effect with lace. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow tea roses with green foliage and white satin streamers. The Bridesmaid’s dress was of yellow silk rough crepe. She wore a shoulder boquet of pink roses. The little flower girl was dainty in her pink taffeta silk dress. She carried a basket of mixed flowers.

The ring bearer wore a blue velvet corduroy coat with white trousers and carried the rings on a white cala lily with fine green foliage about it. The groom’s suit was a dark blue and the best man also wore a dark suit, both had shoulder boquets.

The home was prettily decorated with pink and white crepe paper streamers while a large white wedding cake decorated the table for a reception which was held at the home of the bride after the ceremony where covers were laid for 40.

The couple received many nice gifts. They left Friday morning for a wedding trip to Oconomowoc, Wis. and will visit other places before returning and will be back by October 10th and will reside in the Town of Sherman.
