In 1905 he came to Beach, N. D., where he filed on a homestead near Yates. He married Mrs. Kate Taylor, Minneapolis, on Feb. 1910, and she also preceded him in death. For the past few years he has spent most of his time with his daughter Mrs. Roscoe, at Rathdrum, Idaho. He had gone to Woodburn, Ore., to visit relatives when he was stricken by the illness that caused his death.

Mr. Welsh was a man of fine business integrity. His uprightness of character and manly principles and loyalty to the right stood out prominently in all his dealings. He was of a genial nature and always looked on the bright side of life. His personality was one of kindness, not alone to the family, but ti his friends who will long remember his genial good will.
