Hull, Jane (6 APR 1828 - 25 JAN 1917)

Mrs. Jane Hull died Jan. 25th, 1917, at her home in Abbotsford, Wis., of bronchial pneumonia, aged 88 years, 9 months and 20 days.

Her maiden name was Jane Bullen. She was born in Genesee Co., N.Y., April 6th, 1828; was married to Nelson Hull, May 4th, 1854, in Washington Co., Wis. They came to this vicinity about 45 years ago, and settled on a homestead in the town of Holeton (Marathon Co., Wis.). After selling the homestead they moved to Poysippi, Wis., where Mr. Hull died 22 years ago. Upon the death of her husband she decided to come back to Abbotsford and be near her children, where she has since lived. Four children are left to mourn the loss of a faithful and devoted mother: Mrs. L.S. Rice of Bessemer, Mich., Mrs. C.S. Ouimette, Chas. Hull and Mary Hull, of Abbotsford, Wis.

Her children were all with her at the time of her death, as was also one sister, Mrs. Wescott of March, Wis.

She is also survived by twenty grandchildren and forty great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Baptist Church, a sincere Christian, and loved by all who knew her.

The relatives that attended the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. L.S. Rice, and Mrs. W.J. Sincook of Bessemer, Mich.; Chas. Hull, Wallace Hull, Laura Hull, and Mrs. Mike Miller of Owen, Wis.; Arthur Rice, and Mrs. Dave Johnson of Stevens Point, Wis.

The funeral was held from the Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford, on Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. The Rev. F. Harvey preached a helpful sermon from Heb. 6-19. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, and bore evidence of the love and esteem of those who gave them. She was laid to rest under the auspices of the Women’s Relief Corps, in the Abbotsford Cemetery.
