Sugar making has been very good this spring.
Wm. Garvin and S. Livingston have been plowing.
J.J. Rowe is arranging to build a barn.
Winter wheat that was thought to have been dead begins to look green.
L. Hosley has left his farm and gone to Minnesota.
John Palmer is reported quite sick from the effects of la grippe, which he had last January. He has not been able to do his chores since.
Joe Palmer has rented his farm to T. VanBuren and is going to move to Loyal so as to be handy to his mill.
W.C. Bryant, of Wautomie, has been visiting his sister-in-law, Mrs. C. A. Benedict, for the past three weeks. He intends to start for Champaign this week to see his daughter, who is living in the land of snow.
Wm. Smithers had a pleasant surprise party given by his children.
Mrs. Edna Lawrence has received her pension certificate. Her claim went through in about ten months. The business was done through our whole-hearted clerk of the court, C.S. Stockwell.
