Vandeberg, Mr./Mrs. Alvin (Silver - Feb. 1938)

Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Vandeberg of the town of York celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary Tuesday at their farm home in York, where 78 guests were gathered to commemorate the occasion. Rev. Fleming of the M. E. Church of Loyal performed the ceremony at 12:30, after which a bountiful dinner was served. A beautiful wedding cake was baked by the groom’s mother, Mrs. John Vandeberg, and served as the center-piece on the table, the dinner being served cafeteria style.

Alvin Vandeberg and Miss Julia Ziemba were married in Chicago in 1913, where Mr. Vandeberg worked as a street car conductor, Twenty-two years ago they returned to his boyhood community and took up farming and have since operated farms there and near Marshfield.

Four sons were born to this couple; John, who is married and works on the Lon Huckstead farm in the town of Granton; Chester, who completed his high school course in 1937; Clifford, a senior in Neillsville High School this year, and Howard, an eighth grader.

Among the guests from this community are: Mrs. John Vandeberg, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Keller and son, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Pease, Mr. and Mrs. John Vandeberg Jr. and Lon Huckstead.
