The Scandinavian Ladies of Romeo and vicinity have organized a society called the Scandinavian Union Society, Oct 1; they will meet at the home of Mrs. Gus W. Rinquist and thereafter every third Wednesday at the homes of the different members.

Mrs. A. E. Mason left Monday for Ottawa Kansas where she will join her husband, who was called there by the serious illness of his father. They will remain there for a couple of months.

Arnold Gmeiner who has been connected with the REGISTER force for the past six months, left Wednesday for Tomahawk to accept a position there. During his stay here Arnie has made a host of friends who regret his departure but wish him abundance of success in his new field.

The following candidates were in town Wednesday fixing up their political fences. A. A. Bock, candidate for clerk of Court; W. J. Kragel, candidate for clerk; and W. R. Chellis, candidate for Sheriff.

The first two named are now holding the respective office to which they are seeking re-election. They are clean capable men whose past records in office insure their re-election.

Mr. Chellis is the present under sheriff and has made a popular and efficient officer and if elected sheriff will give perfect satisfaction.
