Tschudy, Marian (4 OCT 1899 - 28 FEB 1966)

Mrs. Marian Tschudy, 66, of 303 Wisconsin Ave., former Marshfield school principal, died at 2 p.m. Monday at her home.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hansen Chapel here with the Rev. Virgil E. Taylor, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. The body then will be taken to the Stuessy Funeral Home in Monroe, where Eastern Star rites will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery at Monroe.

Friends may call at the Hansen Chapel beginning at 3 p.m. Wednesday.

The former Marian Margaret Salter was born Oct. 4, 1899, at Unity, and received here high school education there. She attended the Wis. State University, Stevens Point, and was a graduate of the Wis. State University, Eau Claire. She also studied at the University of Wisconsin, Madison; Boulder, Col., University, and University of Southern California, Los Angeles, Calif.

She had taught school at Mellen and Monroe before coming to Marshfield in 1947. She was principal of the Lincoln School from 1947 until her retirement in 1962.

Her marriage to Albert S. Tschudy, who preceded her in death in 1929, took place Oct. 4, 1922, at Unity.

Mrs. Tschudy was a member of the Order of the eastern Star in Monroe, the Women’s Club, League of Women Voters, Delta Kappa Gamma and the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include three sons, Albert J. Tschudy, Antigo; James M. Tschudy, San Francisco, Calif.; and Dr. Robert Tschudy, Denver, Col.; a sister, Mrs. Harvey L. (Elizabeth) Eby, Los Angeles, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.

The family has established memorials to be given to the Cancer Fund.
