Leja, Anna Ethel (March 6, 1912 - August 1, 2006)

Anna Ethel Leja, age 94, a lifelong resident of Stanley, passed away August 1, 2006 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley, with her family at her side.

She was born to Frances (Ciolkosz) Slowiak and Anton Slowiak on March 6, 1912.

Anna is survived by one son, Jack, of Stanley; two daughters: Janice (Mark) Fonk of River Falls, WI and Colleen (Richard) Bergevin of Chippewa Falls, WI; three brothers: Vince (Mary) Slowiak of Thorp, WI, John (Alice) Slowiak of Prk ridge, IL and Ted (Dorothy) Slowiak of Niles, IL; three sisters: Julie Pober of Indiana and Theresa and Vickie Slowiak of Chicago, IL; two grandchildren: Tim (Eva) Bergevin of Chippewa Falls, WI and Melissa (Tom) Werner of Elk Mound, WI; four great-grandchildren: Brandon, Joe and Jeanie Werner and Jordon Bergevin.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; three brothers: Alex, Henry and Walter Slowiak and three sisters: Wanda Cheuey, Louise St. Lawrence and Mary Dubicki.

A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Stanley with visitation one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin & Plombon Funeral Home is serving the family.
