Stanley W. "Squirt" Skwierczynski, Jr., age 67, of Fairchild, passed away on Friday, September 15, 2006, at Wissota Healthcare, in Chippewa Falls, after a short battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2006, at Thorp Funeral Home Chapel, Thorp, Wis. Burial will follow in East Thorp Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Stanley Walter Skwierczynski was born on September 14, 1939, in Chicago, Ill., to Stanley and Marge (Ustianowski) Skwierczynski. He was united in marriage to Frances V. Marek, of Thorp, in 1958. Stanley was an over-the-road truck driver for many years. He owned the Rock Dam Saloon with his brother, Daniel, and later worked for the Village of Fairchild.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, but most of all, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, and his favorite driver, Matt Kenseth (17), the Packers and the Badgers.

He is survived by seven children, Rodney (Terry) of White Bear Lake, Minn., Arlene Himebauch of Eau Claire, Corinne Skwierczynksi of Eau Claire, Ernest (Sandra) of Kennewick, Wash., Natalie (Tim) McCredden of Thorp, Florian (Larissa) of Eau Claire, Stacey (David) Falkers of Viroqua; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one brother, James of Des Moines, Iowa; aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many, many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Daniel; and his former wife, Frances.
