Scheuneman, Ilga (January 5, 1941 - December 18, 2004)

Ilga Scheuneman, age 63, Withee, died Saturday, December 18, 2004, at her home. Funeral services were at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 22, 2004, at Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee. Internment will be in Nazareth Lutheran Cemetery, Withee. Reverend Bryan Anderson will officiate. The family greeted the friends after the service in the church hall. Maurina/Community Funeral Home assisted the family.

Ilga was born January 5, 1941, in Lativia to Peter and Hilda (Kalnins) Zarins, the oldest of five children, raised on a farm in Withee. In 1959, Ilga married Eino Ristola Jr. and later divorced. She then met and fell in love with Don Scheuneman and they were married in 1981. She worked as a nurses’ aid in nursing homes and was an assistant teacher for handicap children. She also worked for the O-W (Owen-Withee) IGA for a few years until she retired to care for her grandchildren.

Ilga is survived by her husband, Don of Withee; her children: Rebecca (Ronald) Hill of Owen, Eino (Barb) Ristola of Minnesota, Robert (Spring) Ristola of Withee, her step-children: Connie (Lee) Koplin of Withee, Sandi (Roger) Kuski of Medford, and Jimmy Scheuneman of Withee: 13 grandchildren; sister and brothers: Lucy (Gary) Tabbert of Withee, John (Kathy) Zarins of Withee, Elmer (Rose) Zarins of Thorp.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Wanda Sue Ristola, April 23, 1975.
