Kornesczuk, Angeline (October 27, 1913 - July 25, 2004)

Angeline Kornesczuk, age 90, of Thorp died on Sunday, July 25, 2004 at Oakbrook Health and Rehabilitation Center where she has been a resident since November of 2003.

Funeral services will be held at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp on Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Roman Kaiser officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery in Thorp. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Angeline Jaks was born on October 27, 1913 in Reseburg Township the daughter of Anthony and Ann B (Franconiak) Jaks. She attended school in the area and then married Joseph Kornesczuk in the early 1930’s at St. Mary’s Czestochowa and the couple farmed in the area for many years. Angeline raised her family and worked at the Blue Moon Dairy in Thorp. Joseph and Angeline later sold the farm and moved to Stanley. Joseph died in the early 1960’s and Angeline continued to live in Stanley until moving to Thorp in 1978. She moved to the Morgan Plaza in 1981 and entered the Clark County Health Care Center in July 2003 and then the Oakbrook Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in November of 2003. Angeline was a member of St. Bernard-Hedwig’s Catholic Church.

She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Rose (Dan) Beechler of Warren, MI and Theresa Kornesczuk of Wheaton, IL, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, three brothers: Tony (Valerie) Jacks of Thorp, Casmer Jaks of San Diego, CA and Joseph Jacks of Glen Ellen, IL and one sister-in-law Frances Jaks of Thorp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters in infancy, one brother Steve, her husband, one daughter, Ann Thinnes and one grandson Gregory Allen Thinnes.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
