Terrelll, Floyd A. (May 20,1864 - May 6,1930)

Floyd A. Terrell was born May 20,1864 at Merricmac, Sauk county, Wisconsin, the oldest son of George and Frances Terrell.

In 1863 he moved to Jackson county with his parents, the family settling on a homestead in what is now the town of Cleveland.

Here in grew to young manhood and on June 3,1894 he was united in marriage with Miss Martha Zimmerman. He since then has made his home on his farm, north of this village.

Six children blessed the Terrell home, Bert, Lee, Elsie (Mrs. Oswald), Lena (Mrs. Edwin Harris), Hugh, and Grace.

Mr. Terrell was one of the pioneer residents of this vicinity. With untiring labors he created a fine farm out of the wildwood, and here his interests centered for he was a man who loved his home and family most of all. He was always a kind husband and a loving father, who will be greatly missed not alone by his family and brothers and sisters, but by all who knew him. For the past eight years he has been a great sufferer, bearing at all times his trials with the utmost patience.

He passed away at his home May 6,1930 at 5:45 o’clock in the morning, aged 68 years, 11 months, and 15 days.

He leaves to mourn his death his loving wife, three sons, three daughters; two sister, Mrs. Hattie E. Travis of this village, and Mrs. Lois Dunn, of Cleveland; and two brothers, Orin of Alma Center, and George of Cleveland; and three grandchildren. His parents and three brothers preceded him in death.

The funeral services were held at the town hall Thursday afternoon, where many relatives and friends assembled with those who mourn to pay the last tribute of respect to the departed friend and fellow townsman.

Rev. E. A. Weaver preached the sermon and burial was in the Houghtonburg cemetery, near to the family lot of his beloved parents and brothers.
