Larsen, Emma Helen (January 16, 1910 - October 29, 2006)

Emma Larson, age 96, of Neillsville, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Memorial Health and Rehab Center.

Emma Helen Larsen was born on January 16, 1910 in Cottonwood, SD, the daughter of Howard and Bertha (Seese) Fees. She was the youngest of seven. As a child she attended grade school and graduated from High School in Cottonwood. She was united in marriage to Soren Larsen at the United Church of Christ in Cottonwood. They farmed until the depression in the 30s and in 1933 they moved to Wisconsin and worked various jobs. In 1942, they bought a small farm near Neillsville, Wis. Emma worked on the farm and Soren worked at the Ford Garage in Neillsville for 19 years. In 1960, they owned and operated Larsen’s Lakeside Bar. They sold the bar in 1966 and retired.

Surviving Emma is her daughter, Betty (Don) Schultz, of Greenwood; a son-in-law, Irvin (Glenna) Marg, of Neillsville; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way. She is also survived by many special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters, Eileen in infancy and Lois: three brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services for Emma will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, November 2, 2006, at the United Church of Christ in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor James Mohr will officiate. Providing music will be Deon Spangler, organist and Corrine Armitage, soloist. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 pm. on Wednesday, November 1, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Honorary Casket Bearers are: Soren Marg, Heath Heck, Bernard Walker, Randy Marg and Jason Didier.

Casket Bearers are: Howard Marg, Terry Marg, Tim Schultz, Todd Dunlap, Craig Heck and Nathan Lamon.

The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting Emma’s family with arrangements.
