Williams, Richard Roy (August 13, 1949 - March 17, 2005)

Richard R. Williams, age 55, of Dorchester, (formerly of Thorp), passed away Thursday, March 17, 2005 at his home.

Funeral services were held on Monday, March 21, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp with Rev. Daniel Welch officiating. Private interment will follow at a later date.

Visitations were held on Sunday, March 20, 2005 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home and on Monday one hour prior to services at the church.

Richard Roy Williams was born on August 13, 1949 in Stanley, WI, to Dewey and Clara (Fillipeck) Williams. He was educated at area schools and graduated from Thorp High School in 1967. He later married Bonnie Oates-Borowski on August 5, 1978 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Thorp. They later divorced. Richard farmed his entire life, but in his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Dorchester, Wis.

He is survived by his mother Clara Williams of Thorp, WI; his former wife, Bonnie Williams of Owen, WI; four children: Christine (Ryan) Riehle of Colby; Linda Williams of Yuma, AZ; Rebecca Williams of Rice Lake; and Dewey Williams of Thorp; three grandchildren: Tripp, Tyler and Emily; three brothers: Rollin (Kathy) Williams of New Berlin, WI; James (Diane) Williams of Willard; Darrel Williams and Meg of Thorp; and one sister, Shirley Williams of Thorp.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Williams in 1993.

Thorp Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
