Petranovich, Donna (21 JUN 1939)

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Donna Petranovich, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Petranovich of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), to Matt Benzschawel of Thorp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Benzschawel. The ceremony took place June 21, 1939 at 8 o’clock at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church at Thorp, the Rev. A.F. Muckerheide officiating. Only immediate relatives and friends were present.

The bride’s dress was of white slipper satin worn with a long, filmy veil with a braided net crown ornamented with pearls. She carried a bridal bouquet.

Her maid of honor, Miss Cecelia Benzschawel, wore yellow chiffon and carried yellow roses in a basket. The flower girl, Arnoldine Benzschawel, was dressed in pale green organdy and also carried roses in a basket. Peter Moskiewitz attended the groom.

A reception held at the home of the bride’s parents was attended by 35 persons. The home was decorated in a color scheme of yellow white and green. Among the guests were Mrs. Raymond Brick, Mr. and Mrs. John Dundovich, Mr. and Mrs. John Rithaler and daughter Marilyn, all of Chicago.

The groom attended Thorp High School and at present is operating a farm. The young couple have returned from a wedding trip to Lake Chetek and are at home on the groom’s farm at Thorp, Route 2.
