Bredesen, Verna M. (16 MAY 1943)

In a double-ring ceremony performed May 16, 1943 at 3 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Bredesen, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), their daughter Miss Verna Marie Bredesen became the bride of Fern D. Harms, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fern T. Harms of Owen, Wis. The Rev. C.S. Matthews of Owen, read the nuptial vows, and Mrs. John Menz played the wedding marches.

The bride was attired in an embroidered white voile formal gown, over which fell her floor-length veil caught to a lace and satin headdress. Roses, carnations, and snapdragons were arranged in the bridal bouquet she carried and a pearl necklace was her only jewelry.

Her sister-attendant, Miss Bonnie Mae Bredesen, wore a peach colored formal frock and a shoulder corsage. Harold A. Frey, brother-in-law of the groom, was best man.

The Bredesen home, where later 30 guests were served supper, was decorated in pink blue, and white streamers, and bouquets of cut flowers. The couple left on a short wedding trip.

Mr. Harms attended the Owen High School and May 20 was inducted into the U.S. Navy. His bride was graduated that same day from the Greenwood High School.
