Hassert, Alma (1867? - 26 AUG 1942)

Mrs. Alma Hassert, 75, was found dead in her home here this morning about 10 o’clock by a neighbor, Ed Buker. Mrs. Hassert was seen last yesterday morning, and it is presumed by local authorities that death was due to a heart attack suffered shortly after she was last seen yesterday. She had lived alone since the death of her husband Feb. 8, 1941.

Buker, who brought Mrs. Hassert her mail, found the door slightly open when he arrived this morning and entered the house after his knocks were unanswered. He found Mrs. Hassert lying on the floor in the kitchen.

Funeral arrangements have not been made pending word from relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Hassert came here from Iowa in the spring of 1917 and settled on a farm northeast of town (Greenwood, Clark Co., Wis.), where they lived until four years ago, when they retired and moved to the city.

Surviving is a son, LeRoy Dunham, East Side Mobile Bay, Ala.; and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Goldie Whitham, Lakeville, Iowa.
