Schlinsog, Lucille (Marriage - 24 March 1940)

Miss Lucille Schlinsog, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schlinsog, Granton, and Gerhard Burge of Kentland, Indiana, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gust Burge, were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Easter Sunday, March 24, at Mapleworks Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, Rev. A. H. Laesch conducting the double-ring ceremony.

The altar was decorated with baskets of assorted flowers. Mrs. A. H. Laesch sang a hymn.

The bride wore a gown of white satin, with long train, and a finger-tip veil caught with a headband of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was a lovely combination of calla lilies and snapdragons.

Mrs. Erwin Braatz, sister of the bride, as matron of honor, wore a gown of royal blue satin and an arm corsage of pink and yellow snapdragon.

The bridesmaids were Hazel Beil, a cousin of the bride, and Mrs. Harry *Kappen, an aunt of the groom. Miss Beil wore teal blue water-fall satin, Mrs. *Koppen was dressed in old rose satin. They wore shoulder corsages of daffodils and forget-me-nots.

Erwin Braatz, brother-in-law of the bride, was best man. Arthur Schlinsog, the bride’s brother, and Harry Koppen, uncle of the groom, were ushers.

Gene Burge, dressed in a dark blue suit with white blouse, acted as ring-bearer. Eileen Hoeb, wearing pink silk with blue flowers, was flower girl.

A wedding reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schlinsog, with 65 guests in attendance. The color schemes were pink and white for the living room and blue and white for the dining room.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Burge were graduated from the Granton High School and are popular among their friends and associates. The bride has been employed as secretary for a physician, Mr. Burge being employed by the Kentland Dairy Products.

After a few days wedding trip to Racine and Chicago, the couple will be at home at 110 ½ W. Carrol, Kentland, Indiana.

Out-of-town guests at the wedding were: Rev. and Mrs. Carl Hoeh and family, Siegel, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. William Schlinsog, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Keller of Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hessel, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Beil and family, Chili; Mr. and Mrs. Gust Burge, Kentland, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Tern Gotter, Stratford; Mr. and Mrs. Gust Holtz, Neillsville, and Richard Gotter, Loyal.
