Kuester, Loretta (13 JUN 1918 - 9 DEC 2006)

Loretta E. Kuester, 88, Colby, formerly of Greenwood, died at the COHO Community Based Residential Facility, Colby, on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2006. There will be no services held.

Loretta Ella Kuester was born on a farm northwest of Greenwood, on June 13, 1918, to William and Emma (nee Goeke) Kuester. She was raised on the farm and received her education in the Greenwood area. In 1939, her family sold the farm and built the Parkway Supper Club, now Chelsea’s Supper Club, on Hwy. 73, just north of Greenwood. She helped her parents operate the club until they sold it in 1959 and moved into Greenwood. She resided with her parents until their deaths. She then moved in with a very special family, John and Sue Fox, and lived with them for many years. She then moved to Colby, where she resided until the time of her death.

Survivors include one brother, Leon (Fern) Kuester, Greenwood; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Lawrence Kuester; and one sister, Eldora Luther.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
