Janicki, Ronald M. (January 14, 1947 - December 16, 2006)

Ronald M. Janicki, age 59, of W16238 Polley Lane, Gilman, WI passed away on Saturday, December 16, 2006 at Memorial Health Center in Medford, WI.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2006 at 10:30 a.m., at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, WI with Fr. John Long & Fr. Gerard Willger officiating. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Gilman Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Saturday at the church. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home conducted by the Knights of Columbus. Plombon Funeral Service of Gilman, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.

Ron was born on January 14, 1947 in Chippewa Falls, WI the son of Edward & Caroline (Bamburak) Janicki. He grew up in the Junction area attending area schools graduating from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1965. He then attended UW Eau Claire and graduated from UW Stevens Point with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music Education. He then taught in Phelps & Prescott, WI. He was untied in marriage to Beverly Prasnicki on July 3, 1971 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Gilman, WI. They lived in Prescott, WI until 1978 when they moved back to the Gilman area where he worked with his father and later took over Janicki Farm Sales. He was an active member of Ss. Peter & Paul Parish, Knights of Columbus and being an active outdoorsman he belonged to the N.R.A., Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Safari Club International, Whitetails Unlimited, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, Stanley Sportsman’s Club, Augusta Sportsman’s Club, Hayward Sportsman’s Club, Taylor County Sportsman Club, Chequamegon Sports Club, and Huron Sno-Gliders & Otter Lake Boosters. Besides his love of hunting and fishing he enjoyed camping on Brewster’s Island on Otter Lake. He was a well known musician in the area playing for Jolly Polkateers, Joe Tomaczeski, 3 Bob’s plus 1, J & J Polka Kings, J & J Classic Sounds, Cynor Classics and John Flipczak & the Classics.

He is survived by his wife Beverly of Gilman, WI, one son, Anthony (Amber) of Eau Claire, WI; one brother, Bill (Mary) of Sacramento, CA; two sisters: Cheryl (Rich) Broda of Thorp, WI and Karen (Randy) Zelin of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and sister-in-law, Sharon (David) Jorgensen of Milwaukee, WI plus many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carol.
