O’Hara, Genevieve (30 MAY 1946)

Wearing a fuchsia colored suit with white accessories and a shoulder corsage, Miss Genevieve O’Hara, Daughter of Mrs. Myrtia Barrett?, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Emory K. Voie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie, Greenwood. The wedding ceremony was read in the United Lutheran Church at Greenwood, May 30, 1946, at 2 p.m., by the Rev. A.E. Norson. Mrs. Lillian Warner was organist and Catherin and Leone Hagenbarth sang "God Will Take Care of You" and "Crown with Benediction."

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Dunn, brother-in-law and sister of the groom, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Brandt, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, all of Greenwood.

Both Mrs. Dunn and Mrs. Brandt wore dark suits and pastel colored accessories. Their corsages were similar to the bride’s.

At 5 p.m. supper was served to the immediate relatives and closes friends at the home of the groom’s parents. A wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom ornament centered the table.

A dance was held that evening in the Merry Ol’ Gardens with Dale Simons and the Blue Denim Boys providing the music.

The bridegroom entered the army in 1942 and spent two years in the European Theater of Operations. He was granted a discharge from service Nov. 24, 1945.

Mrs. Voie is employed at the Farmer’s Store at Greenwood and her husband works at the C.C. Hoehne Hardware Store in the same community.
