*Perwitz, Augusta (15 Aug. 1861 - 28 May 1940)

After ten days of illness with pneumonia, Mrs. Ferdinand Perwitz arose from her bed Monday morning and fractured her hip in a fall. She was taken to the Marshfield hospital that afternoon where she passed away at eight o’clock Tuesday morning. Mrs. Perwtiz was nearly 79 years of age.

Mrs. Ferdinand *Pirwitz passed away at the Marshfield hospital at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, May 28. She was 78 years of age. After an eight days illness with pneumonia, Mrs. Pirwitz fell and fractured her hip, passing away the day following the accident.

Mrs. Pirwitz was born in Brandenberg, Germany, August 15, 1861, her maiden name being Augusta Weiswange. She came to American in 1881, settling in Lake Mills, Wisconsin. For the past 52 years she has been a resident of Clark County.

She was married to Herman Braun September 23, 1883. Four children were born to this couple, namely: Lydia, Mrs. Ruudoph Wegner, and Ernest, town of Grant; Mrs. Hattie Keller, 6819 West National Ave, West Allis, Wis.; and Edward, who preceded his mother in death. Mr. Braun died in 1900. She left two brothers in Germany from whom she had not heard in recent years. There are six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

On March 7, 1901, Mrs. Braun was again married, to Ferdinand Pirwitz, who survives.

Mrs. Pirwtiz was a good neighbor and a sincere friend. She was devoted to the members of her own household and willingly sacrificed her own comforts for their needs and happiness. She loved her garden and surrounded her home with flowers and shrubs.

Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church Friday, Rev. William A. Baumann officiating. Interement was made in the Neillsville Cemetery, William Nemitz, William Naedler, Frank Hemp, Albert Hemp, Mr. Radke and Carl Lawerence, Sr., acted as pallbearers.

Out-of-town relatives who attended the funeral included: Mrs. Keller and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Goeden and children, and Mr. and Mrs. Everett Keller and children, West Allis; Mrs. Augusta Kracht, Albert Kracht, Mrs. Otto Mohr, and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Pirwitz, all of Lake Mills, and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pirwitz, Marshfield.

*Note in the first write up the surname is spelled Perwitz, and the second write the surname is spelled Pirwitz.
