Funeral Services for Mrs. H. C. Hinz

Services Held Thursday Afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church, of Which Rev. Hinz Is the Pastor.

Funeral rites for Mr. H. C. Hinz, wife of the Rev. H. C. Hinz, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Brighton, were held Thursday afternoon of last week at two o’clock at St. John’s church, proceeded by a short service at the Swathout Funeral Home in Spencer at 1:30 o’clock. The Rev. Otto Hoffmann of Zion Lutheran church at Colby officiated at the services and interment was made in Hillside cemetery at Marshfield.

Pallbearers were Herman Seefeld, Walter Brueswitz, Emil Mellenthin, George Oelrich, Herman Toltzman and Frank Bruss.

Flowere attendants were Doris Oelrich, Joan Manthe, Betty Ann Brueswitz and Louise Oelrich.

Mrs. Hinz, the former Lydia Helena Becker, was born Dec. 20,1877 at Oshkosh and was married to the Rev. Herman C. Hinz Nov. 2,1904 at Oshkosh.

They have lived in this vicinity the past 13 years. Mrs. Hinz had been ill for several years due to a heart ailment which caused her death Sunday, Feb. 27, at Luther hospital in Eau Claire.

Surviving besides her husband are - three daughters, Lydia and Cordelia Hinz, both at home, and Mrs. Lambert (Dorothy) Kopplin of Eau Claire; two grandchildren; her father, H. R. Becker of Oshkosh, and Otto Becker of Mobile, Ala.; and one sister, Mrs. Henry (Meta) Plotz of Oshkosh.

Relatives and friends from away to attend the rites were: H. R. Becker, William Becker and Ervin Becker of Oshkosh; Mr. and Mrs. Lambert Kopplin and children of Eau Claire; John Hinz of Ledgerwood, ND.; Frieda E. Leitz and Arlis Leitz of Dover, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Clausen and Mrs. Walter Deike of Ripon; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Bruss of Greenwood; and Earl Berg of Marshfield.

Ministers and their wives in attendance were the Rev. and Mrs. J. Carl Bast of McMillan; the Rev. and Mrs. George Heilman of Greenwood; the Rev. and Mrs. Otto Hoffman of Colby; the Rev. and Mrs. John Brandt of Dorchester; the Rev. and Mrs. M. C. Goetsch of Green Grove; and the Rev. and Mrs. A. C. Stapel of Spencer.
