Rohde, Edward C.F. (23 MAR 1884 - 9 JUL 1949)

Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.) - Edward C. Rohde, 65, route 1, Greenwood, died at his home in the Town of Beaver Saturday evening (Jul 9 1949) at 8:30 o’clock. Embolism caused his death.

The body will lie in state at the Myre Funeral Home until Tuesday afternoon, when it will be taken to the Rohde home to lie in state until the time of funeral services.

The Rev. J.C. Langholz will conduct funeral rites Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Rohde home and at 2 o’clock at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. Interment will follow in the Lutheran cemetery.

Edward Carl Frederick Rohde was born at Rubicon, Dodge County, March 23, 1884, and was married at Loyal June 5, 1912, to Agnes Wehling, who preceded him in death Oct. 11, 1931.

He lived on a farm in the Town of Loyal from 1902 to 1912, when he went to the Town of beaver to farm. He held many directorships in co-operative organizations and also held many township offices. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and for many years served as president of the Lutheran congregations. Pallbearers will be former members of the Church Council with which he served.

Surviving are three children, Gilbert and Misses Delma and Alice, all at home; four grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. Ernest Meier, Seattle, Wash.; and two brothers, Arthur, Mellen, and Earl, Devil’s Lake, N.D.
