Arthur N. Guden Jr.

Arthur N. Guden Jr., age 76, 1113 S. Central Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. The Rev. Peter Manickam will officiate. Dorothy Gehrke will be the organist for John F. Binder and James W. Eckes as vocalists.

Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery, Auburndale, where military rites will be conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1866 of Marshfield, and grandsons Jeff Burkart, Alan Burkart, Kody Guden, Randy Guden, Dustin Guden, Jordan Scholzen and Aaron Scholzen will serve as pallbearers.

The visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A combined Sacred Heart Parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Arthur was born April 2, 1930, in Owen, the son of Arthur and Agnes (Dillinger) Guden Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from August 1951 until his honorable discharge in March 1953. He married Annette M. Rossman on June 10, 1954, in Owen, Wis. In his early years he was employed as an inspector at Rollohome Company in Marshfield. He later farmed in the town of Richfield until retiring when the Gudens moved to Marshfield. After his retirement, he drove truck for Figi's in Marshfield and the Marshfield Canning Company. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1866.

Art is survived by his wife, Annette; and by nine children, Marilyn (David) Burkart of Marshfield, Mary (Keith) Kay of Marshfield, Larry (Bernice) Guden of Marshfield, Jackie David of Helena, Mont., Norbert (Chris) Guden of Edgar, John (Tammy) Guden of Marshfield, Agnes (Jeffery) Scholzen of Arpin, Carol (Tim) Zschernitz of Marshfield and Chuck (Lisa) Guden of Marshfield. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is further survived by two sisters, Mary Jane Bearwald and Janice (Dennis) Krahn, both of Naples, Fla.; and by a brother, Duane (Betty) Guden of Marshfield.

He was predeceased by his parents, and three brothers, Phillip, Gerald and Eugene Guden.
