Jocelyn Brehm

Jocelyn Brehm, 91, Colby, died Thursday, January 18, 2007, at Colonial Center, Colby.

Funeral services were held January 22 at First United Church of Christ, Colby. Burial was in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Reverend Kenneth A. Dix presided.

Her grandsons served as pallbearers.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Jocelyn and Melvin farmed in the Town of Hull from 1937 to 1969. Afterwards, they moved to Colby.

She started working for the Colby Public Library in 1970 and took classes at UW-Marshfield to become a certified librarian. Jocelyn retired in 1981.

Mrs. Brehm enjoyed knitting, crocheting, gardening, cooking, baking, reading books and later listening to books on tape.

Jocelyn was a member of First United Church of Christ, Royal Neighbors and helped start the Rural Arts Museum in Colby.

She is survived by her children, Patricia (Jerome) Heckel, Mosinee, James, (Joan) Brehm, Colby, Elizabeth Mary Brehm, Marshfield and Janet (David) Donovan, Chattanooga, TN; 10 grandchildren; great-grandchildren; one brother, Irvin Wellman, Abbotsford and one sister, Delores Brehm, Colby.

Jocelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son, Gerald Brehm.
