Muranko, Helen (19 JUN 1937)

A very pretty June wedding was solemnized at the Finnish Lutheran Church on Saturday when Miss Helen Muranko, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Muranko, became the bride of Edward Venet. Rev. Taminen officiated at the service which took place at eight o’clock in the evening.

The bride wore a coronation dress of white satin with a semi-train. A veil of blush tulle cascaded from a tulle cap trimmed in seed pearls. She carried a small white Bible with a spray of lilies of the valley.

The matron of honor, Mrs. Eugene Zaver of Chicago, sister of the bride, wore a gown of peach silk chiffon with a full skirt and puffed sleeves. She wore blue flowers in her hair and carried a bouquet of blue carnations. The bridesmaids were Mrs. James Barenbrugger, Miss Ina Ristola, Miss Lula Hansen and Mrs. Edward Muranko. The gowns of the bridesmaids were similar to that of the matron of honor except that they were of blue material. Each wore a crownless hat of peach net, and carried a bouquet of pink roses.

The groom was attended by his cousin, Edwin Yeokkala, and the ushers included Elmer Venet, Arval Venet, Eugene Zaver and Ed Muranko.

Following the ceremony a reception was held for the newly married couple in the church parlors. After an extended trip through the Rockies Mr. and Mrs. Venet will be at home to their friends at Winnetka, Ill., where Mr. Venet is employed.

Our of town guests, who were present for the wedding ceremony were Mrs. Marshall, Neil Marshall, Miss Carol Zaver and Miss Gladys Yeokkala, all of Chicago; Mrs. Lanet, Pinesville, Mich.; and Mrs. Eno Lakti of Houghton, Mich.
