Wigal, *Alice Delphine (1850? - 15 Oct. 1940)

Mrs. Jacob Wigal passed away at her home at Osakis, Minn., October 15, at the age of ninety. The word being received here by a friend, Mrs. Lon Cook. Mrs. Wigal will be remembered in the Hewettville Community as the mother of Mrs. William Lowell, who formerly lived on the Judge O’Neill farm. The departed often made extended visits at the home of her daughter and also at the farm home of Mrs. Cook, who paid her old friend a visit at Osakis last summer.

Mrs. Wigal is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lowell of Loyal, and Miss Mary E. Wigal, who lives at home.

Brief burial services were held at Osakis Friday after which the body was taken to Springfield, Minn., for burial.

*First name taken from the Minnesota Death Index.

Family Notes

Born Sept 27, 1850 in WI. Parents are John Platt Weed, b. 1823 in NY.
Mother is Louisa Lamphear, b. abt 1825 in VT.
Alice was married Nov 9, 1950 in Oak Grove, Dodge, WI to Jacob Wigal.
Alice had two daughters, Alice Luisa (Lida/Lydia) Wigal Lowell, my grandmother, b. June 11, 1875 in Springfield, Brown, MN, d. June 17, 1954 in Rochester, Olmstead, MN

Mary Elizabeth Wigal, b. Oct 6, 1884 in North Star Township, Brown, MN, never married.
d. Sept 13,1986 in Osakis, MN

I know that her uncle and two of his sons lived with them at one time in Osakis, but don't know if they remained there. I believe that Alice Lowell had an infant daughter that was born and died in Osakis, but that is unconfirmed by me.

I am really trying to track my gggrandfather's family, Jacob Wigal, but have hit a brick wall on him.  Teresa (family member)
