Bistier, William (8 June 1866 - 26 Jan. 1941)

William Bistier, a former resident of Clark County died at 3:34 Sunday afternoon, January 26, at the Beloit Hospital. An invalid for several years, his condition became critical December 28, and he was taken to the hospital. He was 74 years old.

Mr. Bistier was born June 8, 1866, in Germany. When he was 22 years old he came to this country and settled in Milwaukee where he lived until March 7, 1894, when he was married to Mrs. Rehfeld Warren of Minnesota Junction. They lived at Minnesota Junction until 1913, when they moved to Neillsville, where they owned and operated a farm. Later they moved to Neillsville where Mr. Bistier was employed in the local condensary.

When his health failed they moved to Beloit where they have since lived.

Mr. Bistier was possessed of a rare combination of beautiful qualities. He never spoke ill of anyone, preferring to seek out only the best in his fellow men. These fine traits, combined with a keen sense of humor, endeared him to all with whom he came in contact. His home life was ideal, giving the same consideration to his step-children that he gave his own. Thus Mr. Bistier gained and always retained the loved and respect of each member of his family.

Survivors are his wife, a son, Arnold L. Bistier, Beloit; four step-children, Mrs. George T. Wheeler, Beloit; O. J. Warren, Neillsville; Frank Warren, Ripon, and Hugo Warren, of Waupun, all of whom, with their wives, attended the funeral. One son, Donald Bistier died in 1930. There are also 16 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He leaves also two sisters in the United States and one in Germany.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Beloit funeral parlor. The Rev. Theodore Reykdal, pastor of the First Methodist Church of which Mr. Bistier was a member, officiated. Burial was in the family lost in Eastlawn Cemetery.
